I posted the Listless Rainbow poem on my previous blog thinking only friends and family would see and comment and console. Surprisingly, someone from halfway around the world reached out. My precious Nisha wrote a reply directly on that page:
Your flowers may now lack their deepness,
And your eyes see only blue,
But remember in times of weakness,
I will be there for you.
Your crimson tears and wounds, profound,
Glow brightly with your pain;
Remember that I, your friend, new-found,
Will always share your rain.
Your heart remains gold, it never appeared dull,
And can not possibly so be.
Just remember that in the silent lull,
Your sorrows to share with me.
In the surroundings and your sea of grey,
Know that you are never alone or in the cold.
For we will keep the beasts at bay,
And see the light, forbidding the darkness of old.
Cut yourself not, but those who have harmed –
Are they even worth that much?
Yes, they seemed great and they had you charmed,
But they never were good, as such.
I hope and I pray for your once happy life,
For I called you the sweetest thing.
I know that one day YOU will end your strife
And your gold heart will always sing.
